Issue with enketo - web forms

I'm creating survey entries to show brief descriptions of places we stopped
during site assessments in field visits in Indonesia. The purpose was to
assess inter-household distance, and this requires more than a single
snapshot. Typically i stood in one place and took several photos as I
turned around in a circle, maybe turning 20-30 degrees for each photo. As
as a result, i have 10-12-15 photos for each site.

We created an ODK survey to use for entering the information from my field
notes and photos into formhub to share the pictures with colleagues. I
have the picutres saved on my phone, and I am using the "choose photo"
function to attach them to an odk survey. However this choose photo is
embedded in a begin repeat type question, followed by a *photo *type and
then followed by an end repeat.

The problem is, every time I try to upload more than 10 photos in a
sequence, ODK crashes. It happens every time, exactly after the 10th
photo. So i'm guessing it has something to do with the jump from single to
double digits in the photo number?

When i restart odk on the phone, it picks up where I left off, so i'm not
losing data or photos. And i'm guessing that it's rare that users will
want to upload 10 or more photos for a single survey question. But it's
still a problem worth looking into.

Hi,

another issue with formhub's webforms through enketo:

-- neither me nor Jonathan are able to upload photos using the web form.
in my case (using internet explorer) the "browse" button is greyed out.
in Jonathan's case, using Chrome, the "choose file" button is greyed out.
both buttons are not active.

Jonathan created a form yetserday (v1), uploaded it, it works. He and I
discussed it today, and I suggested some small changes.
We returned to the hotel and I opened the OLD webform (v1) in a chrome
browser.
Then Jon uploaded a changed version (v2) and opened it on his computer,
and it showed the changes.
Then I left the enketo page with v1, returned to the forhub page for
indonesiaelectricity planning, and opened what I expected would be a new
link to the changed version (v2), but it still showed the original version
(v1).
i tried to access v2 a few different times, through different links (on
different pages of formhub) and always went back to v1. I tried logging
out and logging back into formhub, and i even tried shutting down Chrome,
and reopening everything, and every time I still only saw v1.

For a work-around, I have logged into formhub through a different browser,
firefox, and I'm now seeing v2, and proceeding with my work.

Not sure what's the issue, but maybe something to do with cache? The
internet connection in the hotel is not outstanding, but it's good enough
for lots of other things. So i'm guessing this may have something to do
with enketo?

Edwin,

I wanted to make sure I understand correctly Collect crashes when you
are trying to submit the data to the server? Or as you are taking
photos in the repeat?

It would be helpful for us to track down what is happening if you
capture the log of the crash. Please see "How do I get a stack trace
or log after an Android 'Force Close'?" on ODK's FAQ page.

Please create an issue and we will have a look. Note you can
upload/attach the android logs directly to the issue

Have you updated to the latest ODK Collect 1.2.1 (1015) ?

I've been working on getting the image cache flushed, which is apparently
the cause of these crashes.
