I'm editing a form I've built using excel. I'd like to add a repeated
set of questions based on the number answer for a previous question.
I've added a new column called jr:count but wondering how I now link it
to the answer to the previous question which determines the number of
repeats.

Hello,
In the row where you have your 'begin repeat' in the 'type' column, in the
corresponding column 'jr:count' reference the value of the previous
question thus:
${previousQuestion}
