[Looking for feedback] Developing a user-friendly Excel tool to clean ODK survey exports and track ODK-based surveys' progress

Hey there ODK community!

I'm developing a small tool in Excel to make it easy to clean ODK survey
exports and track (in a very basic way for now) the progress of ODK-based
surveys.
The tool is working based on .xlsx extracts of the survey results.

The basic functions of this initial version are:

  • Create a list of form IDs you want deleted. ODK express will delete those
as well as their children in all the repeat loops
  • Clean duplicate submissions and their children in all the repeat loops
  • Create a short report by device ID including the number of forms
submitted, the average form duration and the date of the last submitted
form (very useful to track the progress of the survey)
  • Merge all repeat loops tabs in the main survey tab so that all you data
    is in a single database
  • Replace device IDs by a comment definer by the user (can be the
    enumerator's name for instance)

The tool is available on Github: https://github.com/tourRe/ODK-Express

Any feedback is appreciated, would love to know if you find it useful, what
new features you can think of and any bugs that you encounter.

Thanks!
Alex.

(Rather than reply to this e-mail with clarifications to these questions, I
recommend adding more information to the README.md of your github project).

What tools (ODK Collect, or the newer ODK 2.0 tools) does this work with?

All of our tools only produce .csv files, not XLS or XLSX files.

It is unclear how to use this since the documentation refers to XLSX
exports.

I also don't understand this:
"Create a list of form IDs you want deleted. ODK express will delete
those as well as their children in all the repeat loops"

What problem is the tool trying to solve by doing that?
