Make the message when collect can't reach Central more "optimistic"

When Collect fails to connect ODK central and update forms of entities, the error message shown to the enumerator might be confusing and even stressing when it occurs multiple time.

Maybe the mention of a possible url setting (and the url) could be completed or replaced by an explanation of the most principal issues : no connection available right now or the draft has been deleted (published) .

And maybe this alert should be print to often when the connection problem does persist

As the manager of our Central instance, when i get this message on my phone, I can't wait to check that Central is ok

Hi everybody,

on Friday our Central server went unreachable (provider-side problem) :frowning:

All the colleagues using ODK on the field got this error message at form saving/submission (modified url and IP) :

Error: failed to connect to central.abc.fr/173.182.112.174 (port443) from /171.17.54.92 (port 55958) after 30000ms

So they panicked a bit

Do you think it should be possible add to this message that whenever Central will be reachable the forms will be send ?

ODK failed to connect to central.abc.fr/173.182.112.174 (port443) from /171.17.54.92 (port 55958) after 30000ms :frowning:
But whenever Central will be reachable the forms will be send

Thanks a lot

Where are you seeing this text @mathieubossaert? Are they using manual or auto send for submissions?

Hi Callum,

at the end of the form, when collect tries to send the submissions to central.

Collect is set as default, with auto send.

Ah so they've clicked the error notification's "Show details" and got to the error screen then? For clarity, it'd look like this:

I think so.
I'm sorry Callum but I can't find the screenshot they sent me...
