Media files missing

Transposed from thread on formhub-users group (herehttps://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/formhub-users/media/formhub-users/GRYJN03pW6s/p7-E5g1oG0kJ
).

I am having issues with displaying media files (jpg) using ODK & Formhub on
a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

The media files are in the correct location on the device (in the device's
internal memory, not on an SD card) and are cited correctly in the xls
form, but do not appear. I'm receiving the following error message:

File: /storage/sdcard0/odk/forms/Draft thinning monitoring V1 4-media/ - is
missing

Any help is much appreciated.

Lynsey

What if you remove the spaces in the form's file-name and folder-name?

Also, note that you cannot have any nested directories within the -media
directory -- all images need to be in that folder, not buried in any
folders underneath it.

Hi Lynsey - did you find a solution to your problem? I am facing a similar
issues but with .mp4 video files. All files are correctly placed in the
-media folder, but I too get the "...is missing" error. Funnily enough, the
files are found sometimes, but not always.

Any help is much appreciated. Kind regards,
Jaideep.

ONA ODK form media file error

Do you have more that one language option in your survey?

"In addition, if your survey has multiple languages, you will need to have separate media columns for each language by appending ::language to the media columns. For example, to add image media files to a survey with both English and Swahili languages, you would add the following two columns to your XLSForm:

media::image::English and media::image::Swahili"

Jaideep,

What type of device is this? Is it one or multiple devices that show

Joona - Thanks. I had removed the field-list grouping which I thought was
causing the error, but I do have multiple languages so will try this as
well. Jaideep

Hi Yaw - thanks for getting back to me. We're using Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 -
and this occurs on multiple devices.

It may be caused by the field-list grouping of which the media file was a
part of - I've removed this, and for now the media files are being located.

Hi Jaideep,

If you happen to have a form that shows this problem, I'd love to take
a look and make sure we've filed the appropriate bug report.

Thanks,

Yaw
