Merge different data files in STATA

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Dqp8qIoNkY0/Vk23KbrelHI/AAAAAAAAADk/PX1sDI8r5S0/s1600/merge.PNG
hello,

I want to merge several csv data files in STATA. For merging a unique
variable is mandatory but i do not found any unique or common variable in
my data files. there is only a common variable titled "KEY" in my data
files. Using the "KEY'" variable if i want to merge then it does not work
properly and it look like the attached file.
Please help me to solve my problem.

Thank You
Neelima

Hi Neelima - you can try the tool we developed called odkmeta, which (among
other things) merges the main csv file and csv repeat group files into one
main Stata dta file. It is available on GitHub and SSC.

Hi Neelima,

Did you read the Stata helpfile for odkmeta? The instructions are very
clear. You will especially be interested in the Examples section, which
provides examples of the command + options you can use to run odkmeta.

If this is your first time using ODK and Stata/odkmeta, I would strongly
recommend you have an experienced colleague review your raw .csv files, the
odkmeta-created .do file, and your output .dta files.
