Multiple Connections for odk_user in odk_prod database

Hello Friends,

Greetings for the day. I have installed a local instance of ODK Aggregate ,
and am currently facing a problem of having multiple connections being
established to by ODK database for the ODK user, It seems that that
connections do not get closed when the user has stopped doing any action.
To be more elaborate, I uploaded a form to my ODK Aggregate and after that
I found that there were 30 connections by the odk_user to the odk_database
and those connections are alive even when there is no activity on ODK
aggregate.I wonder if this problem is becuase of the SQL connections not
being closed properly, or if there is any other reason for this.

Would sincerely appreciate if some one could help unravel this mystery.

Regards,
Narsingh.

Narsingh,

Aggregate's configuration defaults to keeping a minimum of 30 connections
open in a connection pool. See the recent discussion in the ODK developer's
group here:

The short answer is that it's not a problem -- unless your database is
connection-constrained somehow. For our SurveyCTO servers, we've
dramatically scaled back the number of open connections in each server's
pool since most servers are simply idle most of the time.

Best,

Chris

Hi Chris,

Thank you for the quick response, and the assurance that it is not a
problem. I was wondering if there is a loop hole which might escalate into a
bigger problem J. Sincerely appreciate all the help.

Regards,

Narasingha.
