No Java Virtual Machine

Hi there,

I'm new to Android and just ran into a simple problem that I can't solve. I
downloaded the SDK ADT bundle for Windows which is a simple zip file and
tried running Eclipse as per the instructions, but I get the error message
that no Java Virtual Machine was found at the destination folder. I do have
it installed on my computer, just not at the specific PATH the error
generates. Also, I noticed that your instructions specify an installer
should've been present, which I didn't find.

Please help.

Kind Regards,

You probably only have the Java JRE installed, and not the JDK.

For development, you should
(1) uninstall any existing Java software (typically the JRE) and
(2) download and install the Java JDK
