ODK Aggregate 2.0 Editing Already-Submitted Forms Data Question

Hi,
I saw in an old discussion post:
"[The current production] ODK Aggregate rejects all attempts to edit
already-submitted data; allowing you to edit already-sent forms therefore
does not make sense.

The aim of the ODK 2.0 tools is to enable bidirectional updates of data,
and therefore it will support re-editing of already-submitted data."

I was just wondering, does the current alpha/beta version of 2.0 now allow
for editing of already-submitted forms data?

Thanks,
ODKUser

Hi,
I think the new REST API in ODK 2.0 beta does seem to support updating a
submitted form instance/data row from reading the docs on the "Insert or
Update Data Row API" - hopefully I'm reading this correctly? Am I correct
in understanding there's nothing like an "Aggregate 2.0" however in
existence/planned which will allow doing this through the Web UI?
Thanks,
ODKUser

I'm sure the core team is planning a web UI, but if it isn't in the
repo, then work probably hasn't begun. If you want to edit data after
the fact today, your best bet is to stream data to something like
Fusion Tables.

The 2.0 tools are designed to support updating/editing of existing instance
data, and the re-publishing of that data to all other data collection
devices involved in the study (device A can submit the data, and device B
can be used to revise it). Once we achieve that, we will be implementing
data access controls such that access to the data across all the devices
can be managed from the central server.

The REST api described here:
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/wiki/REST_Synchronization_API is not
yet final. I've just added a warning of change at the top of the document.

The ODK 2.0 tools use this new REST API to submit and retrieve data from
the server. The 'uiexperiment' branch of ODK Aggregate has the bleeding
edge implementation of this protocol. It has changed since the various
public betas (the wiki is current with the current code), and is currently
undergoing further change.

ODK Aggregate will support the ODK 2.0 tools and the ODK 1.x tools, with
the ODK Survey app being able to submit data either through this 2.0 REST
interface, or through the 1.x mechanism used by ODK Collect (in which case
the updating/editing capabilities of ODK Survey will not function).
