ODK alternative with google forms attaching files

Hello everybody,

I recently started with this:

I´ve purchased it and I am working with it, it works fine and as you can imaging if you have an internet connection you can access from any device.

It is basically a google form in which you can allow attaching files that are gonna be updated to drive in a specific folder as you desire it. And all the record are in a google spreadsheet.

Could you imaging any reason as to why this could not work? or what limitations could have that ODK doen´t? I have been working with ODK succesfully but I would simply find this approach much more easier to deploy.

Also I have been thinking about google photos, as you know google photos allows unlimited upload, ¿do you think it could be posibble to upload the pictures there?what about using the the metadata information from the picture as a way to send more information? that would need to edit that information, this is just an idea that I got the other day.

Regards,

Pablo

Hi Pablo,

ODK is designed to work offline-first and has support for complex
logic/branching, GPS locations, multimedia support, repeats, and so
much more. I find Google Forms works best for short online surveys,
but if it works for your use-case, you should certainly use it!

You might also try Google Drive/Sheets integration that ODK Collect
has. More at https://www.google.com/earth/outreach/tutorials/odkcollect_drive.html.
