ODK Built Application Upload

Dears,

I am reaching out after more than a week of search for a solution for what
seems like a basic step in ODK utilization.

I have been trying to upload a test application on ODK Build, although I
have tried the following steps:

  • Setting up the form on the ODK Aggregate, it is currently preventing me
from logging in via my gmail account (two errors occurred: Account not
    recognized, Consumer error)
  • I couldn't mount ODK Collect folder on the SD card of my Galaxy Tab2.
  • The ODK VM showed errors in my xml file >> which I should modify when I
    get a hang of it.

I would appreciate it if you share the most straightforward way to upload
forms on my tablet.

Sincere thanks,
Hawea

Until you are comfortable building forms with ODK Build, you should
download the form as XML to your computer and run ODK Validate on the form
to identify errors or omissions in the form definition.

ODK Validate is available for download here:
http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/downloads/list

You will need to install Java in order to use that application.

It is best to first gain familiarity with ODK Aggregate by deploying it to
Google AppEngine, and then explore setting up your own server.

Once you have deployed ODK Aggregate to a server, see the "Using the
Application" section of http://opendatakit.org/use/aggregate/

Search for 'superUser' in the opendatakit@ group (
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!searchin/opendatakit/superUser|sort:relevance)
to resolve issues around not being able to log into your AppEngine
instance.

I don't know what you mean by:

  • I couldn't mount ODK Collect folder on the SD card of my Galaxy Tab2.

When ODK Collect starts, it will create the necessary folders.

On Android 2.x devices, you must not 'Turn on USB Storage' while running
ODK Collect. Doing so will cause ODK Collect to Force Close.

For help on using the tools, see http://opendatakit.org/use/
For help on creating forms, see http://opendatakit.org/help/

Many groups have created training guides. They can be very helpful. See:
