Please I would like to ask about the ODK central requirements , as I have to make 2 installations :

1- one in my local machine for testing, after running the containers successfully, I was not able to access the web UI, as I get always redirected to HTTPS. I have used a domain name for my local machine pointing to localhost in /etc/hosts, but it do not work.

2- I'm planning to install ODK central in a remote server, I know that domain name is required, I want to make sure if SSL is required, and is SSL with no subdomains is enough ?

The OS in the local and remote servers is Ubuntu

The above points are not clearly mentioned in the official documentation.

1- You need a fully qualified domain. That domain needs to be mapped to your server's IP. If you do not have those two things, Central will not work.

2- Central uses Let's Encrypt SSL certificates by default, or you can use a custom SSL certificate. I don't understand your question "is SSL with no subdomains is enough".

Try to use this post and basic information of docker can be more helpful while installing
