We are sticking with this version because it is the only one that allows
editing a saved form that has been sent. This is very crucial to our weekly
assessments of the different sites/camps since we only need to edit some of
the previously inputted data and re-send the form. Rather than encoding the
whole form for a certain site all over again each assessment.
I have requested this feature to be put back (or at least an option for
it), but I have not seen it in the newer versions. Truly disappointed.

Updating previous data even after being sent will be available in the
ODK 2.0 tool suite; however, it will work differently.
If you now how to compile and Android app you can add the appropriate
strings.xml translation for Portuguese. If not and it's important I
suggest hiring a company to help you:

No official timetable.
The ODK team pust out alpha versions of tools, then solicit feedback,
and then revises the tools based on the feedback. We generally do not
officially release a tool until it's been used in deployment(s) and
has been tested, so that our users have some confidence it will work.
All this takes time.
Additionally, the ODK core team only has a few full time people
working on it so it keeps us very busy with fixing and improving the
current 1.0 tool set.
