Odk Collect crash "Unfortunately ODK Collect has stopped"

Hii,

I have compile my own Odk Collect apk and using it without any problem .

But recently,. i have changed ODK xls form (include appearance attribute to maps).
And if i use that form and go to Record Location ,..ODK collect throws error
"Unfortunately ODK Collect has stopped" .

Also,. without using the appearance attribute to maps ,..it works fine.

Please suggest me solutions on this matter asap

Thanks in Advance
Rahul

Do you have Google Play Services installed on your device?

Do you have an account set up on your device? (Settings / Accounts / + Add
Account )

The Maps requires play services to vend the map tiles, and Google Maps
requires an account before it will return any tiles.

For your info,.. on that same tab ,..ODK collect.apk running properly downloaded from google play store but custom ODK Collect.apk throwing error " Unfortunately ODK Collect has stopped " when clicking on record location (using appearance attribute is maps in xls form)

The following hint from the wiki is important:

Beginning with ODK Collect 1.4 (i.e., to support the new Maps 2.0 API), you will also need the playservices project:http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/source/checkout?repo=playservices

You have to include this playservices and not the official one.

As per your instruction ,..i have copy Google play services lib from sdk>extras>google> and reference that libraries in the build path of ODK collect in ADT (also add google play services lib jar).

Also , i have build the android project using Google API (4.4) but the same problem persist i.e "ODK COLLECT HAS UNFORTUNATELY STOPPED" (when i click RECORD LOCATION button on ODK COLLECT).

i have attached the LogCat Exception below.

pl. guide me how i proceed next.

Rahul,

The community can't provide this level of help.

If you aren't seeing tiles, then the issue is the Google Maps API. See

https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/android/start.
