ODK Collect for iPhone

Is there any interest for a shared/sponsored development effort for
ODK Collect on the iPhone/iPad?

I've been working on a JavaRosa-compatible iOS client. Form processing,
presentation and storage is complete. Needs work to authenticate and
communicate with ODK Aggregate. Source is here:
www.github.com/mikewillekes/ocRosa

Some of the concepts are portable from the existing Java version, but the
source code is not, making this a fairly big task. Would wecome any feedback
and participation as development contiues.

Has there been any progress on this since last year? My client is leaning
away from Android toward iOS but we already have done some development with
ODK.

I am very interested in this too. I recently looked at ViewWorld, but it can only handle the simplest of forms ATM.

Will do. It will be a while before an iOS version can match the feature-set
of the Java/Android version, but I hope to have a limited beta later this
summer and something suitable for submission to the App Store in September.

https://github.com/mikewillekes/ocRosa is the best effort I've seen so
far. Until there is a concerted effort to fund such a client, it's
going to be slow going. We (Nafundi) are interested in such a client,
so feel free to ping me off list if you want to combine forces and
talk strategy.

Hi All,

I am interested to be connected with you to develop the ODK Collect
for iPad. Can you please tell me how can I make the synchronization
with the the aggregate server. Thanks in advance.

Nice idea to embed the XForm in an xhtml document and parsing the form
into database tables is interesting too

Others are already working on an iOS client. You can likely leverage a lot
of their work.

The communications to and from the Aggregate server are slowly being
standardized here:
https://bitbucket.org/javarosa/javarosa/wiki/OpenRosaAPI

The top 5 of those are largely implemented by ODK Collect 1.1.7 and ODK
Aggregate 1.0:
