ODK Collect: locally save a sent form

Hi,
is possibile to keep saved locally on my device a form that has been sent
to the ODK aggregate server, so i could open it in a "READ ONLY" mode?

I noticed that we have a "Do not delete after sent" option but i tried to
compile a test form, send it but no possibility to find the sent form.

Can you help me?

Thank you very much
Angelo

No. This would be too confusing to explain.

The delete-after-send feature was only recently added. Leaving the sent
forms on the device was the way everything worked originally. It enabled
teams to copy those files off of the devices as a means to recover data
should their servers die.

I have a follow-up question to this. Since the "delete-after-send" was
introduced, are instances still saved in the instance folder on the tablet
even after submission to aggregate?

I ask, because as a data back-up measure I often have team leaders back up
the entire device "odk" folder onto a local machine. This is implemented
when there is no reliable internet to submit finalized forms, as a
safeguard to having a tablet damaged or stolen that hasn't had data
uploaded.

Is this back up is backing up all instances since the start of data
collection, or only since the last submission to the server.

Thanks.

Unless delete-after-send is checked, all instances that were submitted
successfully to the server will remain on the device until you manually
delete them through the Delete Forms screen.

Where are those sent files located? is there any way to review sent data on the phone?

Patrick

The sent files, along with files not sent, are found in the odk>instances folder unless you are using a customized version of odk collect that has the base folder changed. The .db files identify sent and unsent files so its a good idea to backup whole odk folder. That is what we have been doing.
