ODK Collect no showing up in Market search in Cambodia

I have a friend who is trying to download ODK Collect in Cambodia, but
when he searches for ODK, or Open Data Kit in Market, it doesn't come
up...

Has anyone else encountered behavior like this when trying to download
ODK via Market, when outside the US?

Is this an artifact of some setting on his phone (new phone running
Android 2.2, purchased in Cambodia)?

Matt

Matt:

This behavior just started happening recently. Some new default
settings in Market are the likely culprit. We are investigating.
More soon. In the meantime, you can download from the web by
following the instructions at: http://opendatakit.org/use/collect/

Thanks for letting us know,
Gaetano

hey matt,

do you know what kinds of phones? model number, version of os, and
carrier would be helpful. also, do any other applications show up if
when he searches for odk?

we have some phones from india that are exhibiting this problem and we
think market is filtering apps based on phone type. as a workaround,
please follow the "downloading from the web" instructions we have at
http://opendatakit.org/use/collect.

We've had the same issues with phones in India - the Sony Ericsson
Xperia X8 running 1.6, using both Vodafone and Airtel

yup - we did the manual download from the website just fine.

I'll ask what phone they were using.

I have this issue on a huawei ideos running 2.2, in both south Africa and
Kenya.

One of the odk variants shows up but not odk proper

We've had the same issues with phones in India - the Sony Ericsson Xperia

The same problem occurs in tbe United Kingdon. I've an HTC Wildfire
running Android 2.2

If within Market I search for "ODK" it only finds one match - for

"CommCare ODK" from Dimai, Inc."

A search for "ODK Capture" returns the same result, and

a search for "Open Data Kit" returns no matches.

Downloading from http://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/ works fine.

Thanks to everyone for reporting this with your phones and versions. I
think we discovered the problem-- when we added the fix to handle the
tablets and large screens, we also needed to add a configuration option to
specifically allow for small screens.

We've pushed an update that fixed it on a device we have here. Please try
searching Market now for ODK and let us know if it's still not there.
Thanks!
