Fantastic Yaw.

This release looks really good, at least in terms of the features, I
haven't tested for bugs yet. Have you added a tag to github for where this
release came from?

regards

Thanks ODK community/developers for new release.

But I am facing some issue in geopoint, geoshape and geotrace.

My xlsform collecting geopoint and it also use "appearance=maps" in input
tag but when I try to collect geopoint from devices when mapping SDK
selected as Openstreet Map SDK and basemap as Mapquest Streets/ Satellite
the it want load the Mapquest tiles in basemap and it says "As of july 11,
2016 direct tile access has been discontinued".

And when I select mapping SDK as Google Maps SDK and basemap as Streets/
Satellite/ terrain/ Hybrid and then try to collect geopoint from the form
window it automatically disappear or crash and navigate me to ODK main page.

So kindly guide me how to configure or what setting has to be performed for
using Geo widgets.

Piyush

Hi Piyush,

This sounds like a bug.

I've filed a bug request at
https://github.com/opendatakit/collect/issues/216 to track this issue.
If you have any other information to add, please add it there!

And w.r.t. Google Maps, you must have Google Play Services installed in
order for Google Maps to work.

Piyush,

Check on all the devices you have to see if Google Play Services are
installed and what version you have. You can find this in Settings >
Apps > All > Google Play Services.

Uninstall this version of ODK Collect and install an earlier one (e.g.,
1.4.10). Does it work on the earlier version?

This will be helpful in identifying when the problem was introduced.

It may be that the newer offline features are not supported on the Xiaomi
and special handling needs to be added to fall back to earlier behavior. If
we know it works in 1.4.10, then it will be easier to identify what the
breaking change is.

It will, however, be difficult to resolve this unless one of the developers
has access to a phone demonstrating the problem.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

Ok. This rules out any recent changes as the cause of the issue. If you are
able, please capture a log from the device while navigating through a form

You will need to change your Android settings to allow installs from
untrusted sources to be able to install these on your device.

Uninstall this version of ODK Collect and install an earlier one (e.g.,
1.4.10). Does it work on the earlier version?

This will be helpful in identifying when the problem was introduced.

It may be that the newer offline features are not supported on the
Xiaomi and special handling needs to be added to fall back to earlier
behavior. If we know it works in 1.4.10, then it will be easier to identify
what the breaking change is.

It will, however, be difficult to resolve this unless one of the
developers has access to a phone demonstrating the problem.

Check on all the devices you have to see if Google Play Services are
installed and what version you have. You can find this in Settings >

This sounds like a bug.

I've filed a bug request at

Piyush,

Agreed with Mitch. Without a stack trace, there is little chance of
fixing the Xiaomi issue.

As to the other issue, I have confirmed that Mapquest has removed
direct access to tiles. I've identified another tile provider and will
be documenting the progress on this issue at
https://github.com/opendatakit/collect/issues/216.

Thanks Yaw!
This is timely as I am currently rolling out an ODK session down in Guyana,
South America and wanted to do some audio build into the ODK forms so this
would be fantastic to see results when test.,

Piyush,

Agreed with Mitch. Without a stack trace, there is little chance of
fixing the Xiaomi issue.

As to the other issue, I have confirmed that Mapquest has removed
direct access to tiles. I've identified another tile provider and will
be documenting the progress on this issue at

Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

You will need to change your Android settings to allow installs from
untrusted sources to be able to install these on your device.

Uninstall this version of ODK Collect and install an earlier one

1.4.10). Does it work on the earlier version?

This will be helpful in identifying when the problem was introduced.

It may be that the newer offline features are not supported on the
Xiaomi and special handling needs to be added to fall back to earlier
behavior. If we know it works in 1.4.10, then it will be easier to
identify
what the breaking change is.

It will, however, be difficult to resolve this unless one of the
developers has access to a phone demonstrating the problem.

Piyush,

Agreed with Mitch. Without a stack trace, there is little chance of
fixing the Xiaomi issue.

As to the other issue, I have confirmed that Mapquest has removed
direct access to tiles. I've identified another tile provider and will
be documenting the progress on this issue at
https://github.com/opendatakit/collect/issues/216.

Ok. This rules out any recent changes as the cause of the issue. If
you
are
able, please capture a log from the device while navigating through a
form
that should display a map / geopoint field. See

Collect-Troubleshooting#install-android-sdk

Hi Mitch Sundt

I have installed v1.4.10 (1061) still facing same issues on Xiaomi
Redmi
Note 3 device.

One important note when I installed the v1.4.11 app in different
Xiaomi
devices (Mi 4i) on that it's working fine I think the issue is with
only
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

The older versions are available here:

You will need to change your Android settings to allow installs from
untrusted sources to be able to install these on your device.

Uninstall this version of ODK Collect and install an earlier one
(e.g.,
1.4.10). Does it work on the earlier version?

This will be helpful in identifying when the problem was
introduced.

It may be that the newer offline features are not supported on the
Xiaomi and special handling needs to be added to fall back to
earlier
behavior. If we know it works in 1.4.10, then it will be easier to
identify
what the breaking change is.

It will, however, be difficult to resolve this unless one of the
developers has access to a phone demonstrating the problem.

Piyush,

Check on all the devices you have to see if Google Play Services
are
installed and what version you have. You can find this in

This sounds like a bug.

I've filed a bug request at

If you have any other information to add, please add it
