[ODK Community] Is there any way to restrict the odk aggregate page that has been deployed to Google App Engine?

Yes.

Log in with the Super-user username (initial password is 'aggregate')

Go to the Site Admin / Permissions sub-tab.

Un-check all Anonymous user permissions and click Save. This will prevent
un-authenticated access to your server.

If you do this, you should create ODK Aggregate usernames with just the
Data Collector privilege for use by your ODK Collect devices. For larger
deployments, most groups create one common username for all of their data
collection devices (simplifies management but makes it more painful should
a device be stolen or lost).

Note that the initial password for newly-created usernames is unguessable.
You need to Change Password to set it before these become usable. Also,
don't forget to change your super-user username's password to something
other than 'aggregate'.

Hi Mitch,

Working with aggregate 1.4.13 when I log in as the super user the
"anonymous" user is greyed out as is check box to suspend "data viewer"
privileges.

Is there a way to limit anonymous access to the myproject.appspot.com site?

Thanks,

Oliver

Uncheck the checkboxes!

Data-viewer is greyed-out because you have form-manager checked, which
implies data-viewer.
Unchecking the form-manager checkbox should uncheck both form-manager and
data-viewer.

You can then re-check data-viewer if you want.

Note that data-collector is independent of data-viewer and form-manager.
I.e., you can submit data but then not be able to view it on the server, or
you can view the collected data but not be able to submit any (or you can
do both or neither)

Oh my... I just lost a little bit of faith in myself

Thanks Mitch. Makes perfect sense. Why I didn't think to try that makes no
sense at all.
