ODK Not Displaying in Other Language

Hi ODK Developers,

I am trying to get our translations to a survey to work on tablets in
multiple countries. The survey works in French (i.e. the translations have
been programmed into the .xml file) as it has been tested on another
tablet, however when our collaborators try to change the language on their
tablet (ODK Collect version 1.4.10), in the menu bar within a form they do
not have the "Change Language" option, they only have the "General
Settings" option.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Russanthy,

Have you tried to instruct all users that they first need to click "Fill
Blank Form", choose the correct survey, and then attempt to change the
language?
I know you wrote "menu bar within a form", but this could be a user error -
just make sure everyone knows what to do.

Other tips which may help:

  • Try to update and use the latest version of ODK Collect.
  • Please check if all ALL (really all) entries have a translation (survey,
    choices, external_choices)
    There might be a label missing (in a language other than French in your
    case).
