ODK suddenly stop working and form gone

Hi Everyone,

I had a problem yesterday with my ODK application. I was in the field to collect some data but when I was recording coordinate, the ODK application suddenly stop working and the phone interface was black. At that time, I thought there was a problem with my device so I turn it off and then I turn on again.

I opened the ODK again, but all forms that I collected were gone as well as blank form that I've downloaded from the server. I opened saved form and sent form but both are empty. I have no idea what's happening to my ODK Collect, because It is never happened before.

Somehow, all forms that have been collected are stored in Metadata. There are 40 forms there. I was little bit happy when I realized all data are still saved. But, I just wondering how to move the data back to ODK Collect.

Has anyone in this group have same experience with my problem ? if so, what's have been wrong? And how to move all data that stored in Metadata to ODK collect?

I really much appreciated for your suggestion and help.

Unfortunately, the Metadata folder does not contain the collected form
data. It only acts as a directory that points to the actual data.

Somehow, some other app on your phone must have altered the contents of
your SD Card.

The ODK Collect directory structure looks like:

/odk/collect/forms -- contains the form definitions (blank forms). The
form definitions will be in files named formName.xml, and if they have any
images or audio or video clips, those will be in a directory named formName

/odk/collect/instances -- contains the filled-in form instances. Each
instance is in a separate directory named something like
formName_2013-mm-dd_HH-MM-SS/ (where mm dd are month and day, and HH MM SS
are hours, minutes and seconds).

/odk/collect/metadata -- contains the databases that hold directory
information about what should be present in the /forms and /instances
directories.

Where /odk is a directory located on the sdcard for the device. When
connected to a laptop, this should appear as a top-level directory on the
mounted device (4.x) or USB file system (2.x).

If you can find these and restore them to their correct locations, you
should be back in business.
