Hello, I have read quite a number of forums mainly here, and I i tried to implement the solutions provided but nothing works, so here is what I need to be addressed:
1- I have a field that stored even up to 5000 characters, actually for putting in a description of a certain event, I used odk:length but when I upload the form and submit data still the table column has 255 text length, yes Its a new form added to odk aggregate with those definitions of odk length. I tried to edit the table column and change it to a type that accepts long text, still when I submit, the text is truncated still, is this a tomcat issue or is there a real solution to this. I need help on this!
2- Editing Finalised form, is there a straight forward solution to edit a form already marked as finalised, I think this is necessary, I do not need to go through the long route of developing a desktop software that does this. Please help on this too
For (1), there is likely a problem with the specification of the 'odk'
alias in the xml header.
Can you send the form?
Only finalized forms can be uploaded or stored on ODK Aggregate. The aim is
to have the server hold the data of record from the field data collection.
If you need to cleanse the data or correct values, that would be in the
data analysis steps, after the data is exported out of ODK Aggregate.
If you want to review and edit the data on the device, others have written
forms where the data collectors save incomplete forms, then a field
supervisor opens those, reviews them, and enters a passcode (i.e., text
entry, constraint .='passvalue' required=true() ). Once the passcode is
entered, the field supervisor then saves the form as finalized and submits
it.
