Offline mode with ODK survey

Hi,

Can we use ODK survey in offline mode ?

Also we want to know if it is possible to save data after submission for
future modification ?

Also is this possible for an other device to get data of a data that has
crashed ?

Thanks

an other question can we make cascading select with ODK survey ?

Thanks

Just to be clear:

ODK Collect is the existing, stable, production tool for data collection
ODK Survey is in Beta and should only be used by organizations with the
skills to provide their own technical support. We are actively changing
some internals, and cannot guarantee a migration path to a stable
production release.

Both tools are designed to operate in offline mode. You can set the device
to 'airplane mode' and everything will work. When you need to sync data to
a server, you would then re-enable WiFi / cellular connections, and perform
the sync.

In both ODK Collect and ODK Survey, all data is stored on the sdcard of the
device. You should be able to copy the relevant folder from one device to
another and everything should work (in ODK Collect, the general settings
and admin settings may not transfer -- it depends whether you have saved
them out to a settings file).

For ODK Collect, the data is stored under /sdcard/odk/

For ODK Survey, the data is stored under /sdcard/opendatakit/survey/

Both tools support cascading selects. In ODK Collect, you cannot have
questions on the same screen that depend upon each others' values. In ODK
Survey, you can. So if you are asking for country, province, city, you
cannot ask all these questions on one screen in ODK Collect, because the
choice of country will restrict the set of provinces -- there is a
dependency between these questions.
