Problem getting started

Hi everybody,

I'm hoping someone who has been through this can help me figure out
what is wrong.

I already built my survey on Build. Seems fine...
Then I created a local instance of Aggregate.

But, there are several problems. If I try to export the survey to XML,
then upload on Aggregate, I get:

"Error: Problem with JavaRosa Parsing Form:null"

If I try to load the XML on a SD card and do it manually on the phone,
it says it can't read the file.
If I try to export directly to Aggregate (v.0.9.6) from Build, I get
"Internal Server Error"

It would appear there is something wrong with Build, or the survey I
made in it. But I'm not sure. Any advice? I followed the scanty
instructions I could find on the website. I am not a developer, but
need to evaluate whether ODK is a solution for my company.

Thanks in an advance to all who apply,

Derek

To answer the question can you send a copy of the form as it's hard to
answer without seeing the form.

Can you either file an issue on our website with the form or use
Dpaste (http://dpaste.com/) to send a link of the form?

You might also try using ODK
Validatehttp://code.google.com/p/opendatakit/wiki/ODKValidateto
determine if the file that you created locally is actually parsing
properly.

  • Export to XML within ODK Build, copy -paste and create a new file with
    extension .xml
  • Download and run Validate
  • Then validate the local file you created
  • If the file is valid and you still get this error, then the problem is
almost certainly not with the form.

While its possible Build created an invalid form, its probably in the
process of moving it to your desktop that you ran into the problem.
