Problem when taking GPS track while screen is locked: wrong track

1. What is the problem? Be very detailed.
When take a geoshape, if the screen locks while walking the GPS tracks are not ok. With the same phone, it works perfectly is the screen stays unlocked. It seems to be linked to the device, as for other devices the GPS tracks keeps working.
Is there a specific parameter?

2. What app or server are you using and on what device and operating system? Include version numbers.
ODK Collect version 2022 1.2
Samsung
Kobo server

3. What you have you tried to fix the problem?
We made some test, not locking the screen

4. What steps can we take to reproduce the problem?

What do you mean by that? The process is stopped or wrong data is saved?

What's the model? You just said it's Samsung. And what android version?

In the meantime, we learnt that the phone itself had a problem that could probably explain the wrong data we had.

Can you please confirm that locking the screen should not have an impact on GPS tracking?

Yes as long as you use Collect v2021.2.0 or newer Geoshape/geotraces should work in the background or with screen locked, see: ODK Collect v2021.2
