Hi.
I'm having problems with text values containing commas. When exporting the
data to csv using briefcase, values following a comma appear on the next
column/field. Say, for the prompt/question "Other vegetables" the
enumerator types in "squash, cauliflower", squash goes into the right
column but cauliflower goes to the next column in the csv file.
How do I make the values go into the same cell?
Thanks in advance.
Best,
Vinia
Vinia,
My guess is that you aren't importing the data into the program you
are using correctly. The CSV specification says that if the comma is
inside quotes, it should be treated like a normal comma, and not a
cell separator. If the data is something you can share, I'm glad to
take a look at it if you email it to me directly.
Thanks,
Yaw

Hi, Yaw.
Thanks for taking the time to reply. Very much appreciated. I just found
out that the problem was with the utility I used to consolidate the data.
Again, thanks for the prompt response.
Cheers,
Vinia
