i want to pull data from a .csv file, but the data that i want to pull (the columns) ara written in Arabic letters
is that possible ??

no i have tried that, still the same problem , the arabic letters will be damaged or switched into symbols once i save as .CSV
yeah i have tried it , it displays the Arabic letters as question marks (?)
Also try Open Office. They handled exporting of .csv files with non-latin
character sets better in the past.
If the .CSV file does not contain arabic characters, ODK Collect will never
work.
When you use Notepad++ to view the .csv file, you will need to select
Encoding / "Encoding in UTF-8" to see the arabic characters. Otherwise they
will display as "?" or box characters.

When creating the csv file, be sure it is saved as a utf-8 character set.
See
I.e., run the csv through that program, then put it on the device, clear
the metadata directory, and see if it works.
If you just export as CSV from Microsoft Excel, it will likely be in a
non-UTF-8 character set.
