Signature field appears as link in Excel export - ODK

1. What is the problem? Be very detailed.
When i export my ODK dataset the signature type fields only show up as links.

  1. Is there a way to embed the signature in the excel dataset?
  2. If not, then is there a way to designate a name to the signature instead of the random one it takes automatically?

Hi,

Signature is similar as image data in ODK and all image type data captured by ODK will appear as link on exported csv file. If you view the data on Aggregate server or KoBoToolbox dashboard, you will be able to see the signature or images.

There is a way around, in addition to the signature, you may add a field of full name of the person who will sign.

Thank you for the informative and quick reply. I will be applying your suggestion of adding the name text field.

The work i do requires massive data collection daily. Is there a way to name the signature image file instead of it getting a random serial number?
