Is it possible to include a 'skip to end' link or a 'finalise form' on
selected pages ?
In other posts I have mentioned the problems in not being able to see the
associated xml file within an instance folder. Could this be due to the
form not being finalised? i.e. if I close a form and 'save' before getting
to the last page where the option to finalise is located. Additionally, I
do not always need to get to the end of the form for the form to be
complete.

Hi Ian,

There is a jump in the form filling menu that can jump as far as your
logic allows. You could also add a skip remaining yes/no prompt that
when the response is yes, would go to the end. To do this, you'd have
to group the remaining questions and make them relevant if the answer
to the skip prompt is yes.

There is no way to finalize on selected pages, but there are options
to default the save at the end to finalized.

The form is only written to the disk when you save it (finalized or
not). Finalization just does some final validation and sanity checks
and re-saves the file.

The new generation of tools make it easier to support some of these use cases.

Thanks Yaw. the main problem has been getting all xml's to show in some
programs. despite saving and going through all instances to save again,
some xml instances will not show up in most file viewer programs (the
associated photos do). I did work out how to access them with 'my phone
explorer' but they do not show in most common file management progs.

I need your services Sir, my ODK Collect is working by saving data on the sdk but not sending finalized form. It shows nothing available to display. Try finalizing saved forms before sending.

Ian,

As long as you can copy the /odk folder and get your data (and it
sounds like you can), then ODK Collect is working as designed. We are
just writing files to the SD card so there is nothing tricky there. If
there is an on-device file explorer that doesn't see those files, then
please report that to those developers. It sounds like a bug either in
their apps (or shared library) or more likely some file
permissions/caching issue in Android. Either way, you can help those
developers to reproduce that issue.

You can only send finalized forms. Have you finalized the forms?
