Hi Group
Is there any way I can have the images named using a variable inside the
form? Example, use a name of a building and then have each of the 3 images
named "$buildingname_front" , "$buildingname_side" etc?

Bashir,
You can use a calculate to store what you want the image named (e.g.,
during your analysis phase) but you cannot change the underlying filename
that Collect uses. That underlying filename has to be unique and that's why
it's named automatically.

Yawn,
I have the same question but in a different way.
I only have one image in the former and I want the file name to be the same as instance name. The instance name is unique so the media names will be unique in this case.
Thanks.
Hi,
The answer is the same. You currently cannot change the underlying
filename that Collect uses.
If this is a feature you'd like added to Collect, please file an issue
at https://github.com/opendatakit/collect/issues/new describing why
the feature is needed.
Thanks,
Yaw
