Tab / Move between form fields on one page

Hi!

Hoping someone can help. Had a look through the topics but couldn't find
anything similar.

I have a fairly simple form in collect ODK for doing asset management.
Essentially 3 text fields on 1 page in one group. Item number, qty and
another unique attribute. Given the user has to do a lot of moving from one
text field to the next as they record all the assets, is there a simple to
have the 'enter' soft key jump to the next field rather then create a line
break within the text field? This will be on an android mobile device, not
tablet.

I know there are more complex ways to do this, such as remapping the device
keys (an option, given these devices will only be used for the audits), but
keen to know if I am missing something simpler first.

Hope someone can help, thanks in advance !

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

You can likely customize ODK Collect's source code to enable this.

If you don't want to customize Collect, you could try changing
navigation (in General Settings) to use forward/backward buttons and
then put the questions on separate pages.

The pop-up keyboard sometimes has a "Next" button that would provide this
functionality. Try a different soft keyboard.
