Thank you and one final request

Hello everyone,

I wanted to let you all know that I’m moving on from the ODK team :blue_heart:

I’ve loved my time on the team, working closely with the @Insiders and the wider community on a product that delivers such massive impact at scale. I’m also proud of all the cool features we shipped over the last three and a half years!

The good news is that I’m staying in the open-source world! I’ll be joining the Thunderbird team at Mozilla. I’ll definitely still be hanging around the forum (I can’t help myself), and I’m excited to see all the upcoming design work come to life!

I’m especially looking forward to seeing new geo features in Collect and folks switching to Web Forms as their default. We’ve worked so hard to build a modern Web Forms experience that works on any device, and I can’t wait to see it take off.

I’m leaving you with one final request…For those of you who were at the Summit in London in 2023, you may recall my slide with a Quokka. I’m not ashamed to admit I used cute baby animals as emotional leverage to get more research participants. So my pitch, if you haven't tried Web Forms yet, try it with your favourite form and post your feedback in the idea category.

I still be on the forum, so feel free to DM me or find me on LinkedIn :cherry_blossom:

We’re going to miss your incredible design eye! Thank you for everything you’ve poured into the team over the last three and a half years. It's been a joy working together.

See you in the threads, and we’ll be sure to keep pushing those Web Forms features forward (we'll do it for the quokkas!)

Thanks so much for all the time and energy you've shared with ODK over the years. You've added many wonderful practices to the team and we'll continue feeling your presence through those for many years to come.

I'm going to miss your endless positive energy and can-do spirit, you really brought the best out of all of us.

Looking forward to seeing you over in Thunderbird-land. Here's a Fennec fox for the road!

Thank you so much for all the work done Aly, your kindness, and your constant smile. I’m thrilled to have met you twice.
I’m "sad" you leave ODK, but really happy that you’re moving on to another impactful company.

I have no baby animal to share but he was a baby when I started using odk

Ooh @Aly_Blenkin, sad to hear you’re leaving, but really glad you’ll still be around the forum, and wishing you all the best for what’s next.

It was always such a great balance, from community asks, to what’s actually doable, to the bigger vision. It was clear how much impact came through in what was delivered, keeping both timeline and vision moving across feature development. The forum interactions, timely updates, and that exuberance during insider and office hours calls… you’ll be greatly missed.

All the best for your @Aly_Blenkin!! So nice to meet and work with you in the Insiders group. Maybe it’s time to clean the dust from my old Netscape Communicator :upside_down_face:
