Timed Surveys

Hey,

Is it possible to do a timed survey? Such that once you open a survey a
"timer" of some sort is launched in the background and then once the timer
runs out (say 2 mins or 5 min, etc.) the survey will automatically end and
go to the submit screen?

We're trying to measure "dexterity" and ease of use of electronic data
collection tools among data collectors and capturing timing will be
essential to know how long it takes them to complete a series of data entry
questions. Originally I was going to capture start/end times for each
question but apparently that is pretty complicated to program.

Help?

Cheers,

ODK Collect has an activity logger:

Logs all user interface activity into a SQLite database.

Logging is disabled by default.
Logging is enabled if the file "/sdcard/odk/log/enabled" exists.

The logging database will be "/sdcard/odk/log/activityLog.db"

There is no automated mechanism to get this database off of the device.
You would have to copy this off of the device at the end of your study.
