Track-changes-reasons: can the enumerator see which questions they changed, or be prompted for a reason after each change?

1. What is the issue? Please be detailed.

I use parameters = track-changes=true track-changes-reasons=on-form-edit. When an enumerator edits a finalized form, Collect asks for a single change reason at the very end of the form. Two things I would like to achieve, and I cannot tell whether either is possible:

  • Can the enumerator be shown, before or during that prompt, a list of the questions or variable names they actually changed? At the moment they are asked to justify changes without any on-screen reminder of what they changed, which makes the reasons vague and hard to use.
  • Alternatively, can the reason field appear immediately after each changed question, so that one reason is captured per change rather than one reason for the whole form?

Unfortunately, neither of those is possible with track-changes-reasons today. The prompt is fixed in Collect - one free-text field, shown once at save, with no indication of what was changed, and nothing in the form can influence it.

Both sound like things that might be reasonable to want. If you'd find them useful, you can propose them in the Ideas category, where changes like this get discussed.
