Hello,

I am looking for a tool which can help users to transform ODK forms, from
XLS files to XML files, offline (no need for internet connection) and which
helps them to find their errors in the XLS form.

I found the tool XLSForm, which is not really user-friendly and which is
not very detailed regarding the errors display in the XLS forms.

Do you know if another tool exists ?

For Windows, try
https://github.com/UW-ICTD/xlsform.exe/blob/master/README.md (GUI
app).

For Mac/Linux, try https://github.com/SEL-Columbia/pyxform (command line app).

I find the newest versions of these tools all generate reasonable
error messages.
