Unable to show instance in choices of any previous text type question

I want the instance of text type question in next question's choice, old version 1.4.0 was able to do this but current version is not that is v2.0.0 - Apr 17, 2020
In the same time I am facing issue in old version 1.4.0 because this version is un aware of rank type question. please give solution ASAP, Thank you.

We recommend using the latest versions for best functionality and security. Please note that the current version of Collect is v2024.2.4 and the current version of Central is v2024.2.1 - Central is the ODK server and Aggregate has not been supported since May 2021.
