Dear ODK experts!
We are having a problem in the field that is holding up our progress
We are able to complete our smaller screening survey and sometime 1 of our main survey forms. When we come to filling out the second main survey form we are getting the error message 'unfortunately ODK Collect has stopped.' I am not able to recreate the problem on my tablet in Canada (Acer Android 5.0 16GB) but the problem is recurrent in the field where they are using Huawei Android 4.4.2 10GB). I have removed much of the programming, plus cut the survey into two bits thinking it was too big/complex but we are still having the same problem.
I have attached the xml files of both the screener survey and the main survey
Any help before we have to move to paper forms would be very much appreciated.
Thank you

Hi there,
This will be hard to troubleshoot without an application log. If you
can, have your field team follow the instructions at
to get a log.
Also, please file this issue at
https://github.com/opendatakit/collect/issues/new. Be sure to include
the versions of ODK Collect you are using. Include both the XLS and
XML form.
In general, using external selects (http://xlsform.org/#external),
repeats (http://xlsform.org/#repeats) and simplifying logic (e.g.,
break up calculates into smaller pieces) helps reduce the complexity
of the form. Including your XLS form in the issue is the best way to
get help on reducing complexity.
Thanks,
Yaw

Neil,
Yes, if the app was installed through the Play Store and the crash is
reported, we get a stack trace.
If we see lots of the same crashes (especially after a new release),
then we can start digging, but one or two crash logs with no context
is not terribly useful.
This is why it's really important that crashes are also filed at
https://github.com/opendatakit/collect/issues/new.
In this particular case, there is a crash log of a StackOverflowError
that is probably from Kirstie's team. Once an issue is filed with all
the details, we can try to reproduce and fix the issue.
