Uploading data from a computer rather that through a device

Hi all

I am considering getting one of these devices to test in our Community
MRV trials in Guyana - looks supremely rugged and a good gps.

http://www.gd-itronix.com/upload/specifications/us/Itronix_GD300_datasheet.pdf

but on the down side it doesnt have wifi or bluetooth so any ODK data
will have to be transfered off via usb link and then uploaded from the
computer.

But i am wondering how would this be done, can data be simply
uploaded?

Would this be done through logging in to the appspot account and
uploading there - or if I am using the new approach with data going up
to fusion tables could it be done there. And if so with these two
approaches how does the data add to the existing data.

Or is there a way on the computer to upload the data without having to
have access to these two accounts and have a was that is as easy as it
is on the phone. Any help appreciated.

Jon

odk briefcase can get the data from your phone, put it on your
computer and then send it to your aggregate instance. once there, it
can be streamed to your fusion table.

i can imagine briefcase could go directly to fusion tables at some point,
but don't think that works today.

Also, Briefcase can take submissions downloaded from your phone on to
your computer and generate a .csv file locally without having to use
anything in the cloud.
