What review and edit functionality is planned for Data Collectors?

Hello! I'm new to the ODK Community and I'm happy to know that these implementations are being discussed.

Will the feature that allows users to send/edit/view web forms be available to data collectors?

In our case, many of the users are web data collectors, and it would be very useful if they could:

1 - take part and make comments in the review status discussion, where project managers could ask questions and request updates or corrections about a submission;

2 - keep a copy of their own submissions; currently, we are using Enketo Form's print button as an alternative to save the submission in pdf format, but it has some limitations (for example, in multiple choice questions, it includes all options in the print; also, if the user forgets to save the print before sending the submission, they cannot do it later);

3 - We have received some feedback from users that would like to be able to save drafts in web forms, just like it works in Collect.

Thanks!

This is something that we do eventually intend to add but we don't yet have a timeline for it. Would you like data collectors to only have access to submissions they've made, to all submissions made to the form, to some other subset of submissions?

Can you say a little bit more about how they would be using those saved submissions? By default, ODK Collect does keep sent submissions on device. What are the main considerations driving you to use web-based forms?

You can do this in Enketo today by adding /x/ to the form URL. If you use a public access link, you'll replace /single/ with /x/. If you use a Data Collector link, you'll add /x/ after /-/. Note that the page needs to be in the foreground for submissions to be sent so data collectors have to be sure to open the link again when they have Internet connection.

Hello! Answering both questions:

In some cases, the type of information we collect requires a slightly more extensive report on text. Since some collectors need to make several reports of this type, the web form is more appropriate. For project managers there is no problem: they can see the responses already sent and can consult previous submissions. However, for other data collectors, this is not feasible.

For us, perhaps two options would solve the problem:

1 - an intermediate administrative category between Data Collector and Project Manager, capable of viewing and commenting on all submissions, but without other administrative functions in the project (such as including app users, changing forms, editing submissions made by other users, etc.)

2 - the possibility for web data collectors to keep a list, in the submissions tab, of all the records they have submitted.

I didn't know that, thanks! This will be very helpful. If it were possible to integrate this into ODK Central, so that saved drafts would be saved in the Submissions list (visible only to the author until finalized), that would be great. This would be very useful. If it were possible to integrate this into ODK Central, so that saved drafts would be saved in the submissions list itself (visible only to the author until they are finalized), that would be great.

In many cases, Data Collectors only have basic computer skills and may need days between starting to fill out the form and submitting it. In these cases, editing URLs and maintaining browser cache can be difficult.

Thank you!
