XLSFrom: Error: Unknown question type

Good morning,

When I use certain question types in excel and have it converted using
XLSForm I receive the following error:
Error: Unknown question type..

For example when the following is included in the "type-column" in Excel:
select_one_with_other choices

The error I will receive is:

Error: Unknown question type 'select_one_with_other choices'.

The other optional data-types that results in these errors as well are:

select_one_dropdown
select_one_grid
select_one_inline
select_one_with_other
select_multiple_grid
select_multiple_inline

When I use a normal question type, for example select_one choices, no
errors will occur.

Is there something that I am missing?

Thnx!

Peter

The _with_other option is not supported in ODK Collect / ODK Aggregate.

My error is exactly what worked for yours. When I use the type "select_one" then space and a list name, I get the error "Unknown question type: 'select one'"... why?

select_one_dropdown
select_one_grid
select_one_inline
select_one_with_other
select_multiple_grid
select_multiple_inline

Is not supported in ODK but you can enter it in this format

select_one dropdown
select_one grid
select_one inline
select_one other
select_multiple grid
select_multiple inline

This will definitely resolve your issues, mean why, i hope inline does not
mean two different group in choices

Can you remove the bulk of the questions in your form and send that
slimmed-down form as an example of the problem?

Hi Edwin,

What renderer (e.g., Collect, Enketo) are you using that supports
select_one dropdown/grid/line?

Unknown question type 'not' on odk

Sounds like you have 'not' in the type column and that's not a valid
question type. See http://xlsform.org/ref-table/ for a list of valid
question types.

If that doesn't fix the issue, please start a new thread with your problem.
