How to reference ODK

Hello,

I would like to reference the ODK software, could you please tell me if
there is a specific way that it should be referenced?

Many thanks,

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

The 2010 ICTD paper is what most people cite. You can find a copy of
it at https://opendatakit.org/about/research/, but
http://dl.acm.org/citation.cfm?id=2369236 is the most "official" URL.

If this isn't an academic citation, then you can also just cite the
website at https://opendatakit.org.

Thanks,

Yaw

Hi Yaw,

Is the info in this post from 2015 still good? I know the URL is now https://getodk.org but in terms of a paper to cite, is the 2010 ICTD still the one?

Thanks much,
-Dale

If you need a paper to cite, then Open Data Kit: Tools to Build Information services for Developing Regions is the one to cite.

If you need to cite the software itself, then follow whatever style fits the publication venue. Get ODK Inc is the publisher, we are located in San Diego, CA, and the website is https://getodk.org.
