As you may already know, the Open Data Kit (ODK) community has moved from the Google Groups mailing list where most of you were subscribers to a new ODK Forum at https://forum.getodk.org. This move has resulted in everyone getting fewer but more relevant notifications and emails about ODK. We think that's a huge win for the community!
The reduction in notifications and emails is possible because the ODK Forum has categories like software releases, technical support, feature requests, project showcases, and even a marketplace.
Just watch single topics or entire categories that interest you and you'll be notified accordingly. And if you don't want to visit the forum regularly, you can configure your preferences to get an activity summary of popular topics as frequently as you'd like.
We do occasionally need to send very important announcements (like this one) to everyone in the community, so we have automatically enrolled all forum members to the important announcements category. We expect the number of announcements to be very small, so please don't unwatch or unsubscribe from this category or you will miss out on very important information!
Speaking of important information, we recently had an ODK convening with 60 ODKers representing the various stakeholders in the community. Attendees had a number of discussions about the future of the project and we just posted the summary of key takeaways and next steps. ODK is going through a major transition, so please, please, please, take a moment to read that summary.
