Matrix fields

Hi,

I've been searching this group and can't seem to find an answer: can
someone point me to a tutorial or thread that would help me build matrix
fields into a survey I'm creating (using xlsform)? I have a number of
questions that have the same four options as answers, so I'd like to be
able to display them as a matrix (instead of as separate questions with
options listed below each question).

I know this is possible in ODK, but I can't seem to find any info on how to
actually do it.

Thanks!

Just create a group that contains the select one questions that share the
same choices ( in your example two groups) and apply the table-list under
appearance column in the begin group row.

Cheers

What if you want a table format with open input answers?

For example the rows are school grades. The columns are boys and girls. And you input the number of kids enrolled. How do you do that?

@JenniSarge, did you manage to implement your use case?

Please see Insert-table-to-check-into-form - #2 by LN for grids of selects as the original post asks for.

Grids of other types are not implemented but you can vote, describe your use case and provide feedback at Form design: grid of text or numeric input.
