Prevent self-intersections while mapping

When mapping a perimeter, navigating obstacles can create self-intersections which lead to expensive rework. To solve this problem, Collect now supports an intersects function that prevents self-intersections in geotrace and geoshape questions.
For even higher-quality mapping, add the incremental=true parameter to enable real-time feedback and detailed guidance that data collectors can use to fix self-intersections on-site. Try it out with this sample form!
Smaller improvements
We’ve added polish to make data collection feel smoother and more intuitive.
-
Guidance when you need it: Hints are now visible by default. Previously, guidance hints were not shown by default. They are now shown collapsed unless explicitly configured to be turned off or always shown.
-
Consistent exit experience: We’ve updated the exit dialogs for markups and signatures. They now match the rest of the app, so whether you’re saving a form or a sketch, the experience feels consistent.
-
Cleaner bottom sheet on map: We’ve removed unneeded metadata, like
__version,__trunkVersion, and__branchId,from the Select from map bottom sheet, and increased the font size to make it easier to skim.
Coming soon
- Entities from repeats: We’re in the home stretch! We are fine-tuning the last few details of this feature. Stay tuned...
